Engagement Agreement for Professional Services

The undersigned Clients agree to engage Main Line Family Law Center, LLC. ("MLFLC") to assist them with the preparation of their marital settlement agreement and divorce filing. MLFLC agrees to employ its best efforts in providing Clients with the highest level of skill, competence, guidance and support throughout these services until a marital settlement agreement for divorce is completed to the Client's complete satisfaction and a final divorce decree is obtained through the county court in which Clients decide to file their divorce.

Scope of Services:

MLFLC agrees to perform the following services: 1) an initial free consult with Clients to discuss their options for obtaining a marital settlement agreement for divorce, 2) MLFLC's preparation of a comprehensive marital settlement agreement draft for divorce, 3) MLFLC will make unlimited additional draft revisions, as necessary, until a final draft is obtained for signature and notarization,  4) a one (1) hour follow up meeting with Clients to review the initial agreement draft terms and provisions either in-person or via teleconference call at MLFLC's expense, as Clients choose, 5) MLFLC will provide Clients with a final draft of their marital settlement agreement in PDF format, along with instructions for its signing and notarization, 6) MLFLC will provide Clients with a divorce complaint and all other necessary county court forms to execute for obtaining a final divorce decree, as well as step-by-step filing instructions for the divorce, 7) MLFLC will generally provide assistance and support during the administrative divorce filing process, as necessary, until a final divorce decree is obtained, 8) the above fee will also include a complimentary consultation with estate planning attorney, Philip Levin, Esquire, to discuss any post-divorce estate planning needs for each Client.

Clients understand and acknowledge that MLFLC, in the above-described capacity, will not be providing any divorce mediation services, and that Clients have instead agreed to negotiate the terms of their own marital settlement agreement for their divorce. Clients also understand and acknowledge that they have each been advised to have their agreement draft reviewed independently by private counsel before signing.

Clients understand and acknowledge that they are responsible for all administrative county court fees and other expenses relative to the filing of their divorce which are not included in the above-referenced fee quote price. Clients may also incur additional costs and expenses in obtaining their divorce that are payable to others, such as real estate and retirement appraisal fees, financial planner fees, independent attorney draft review fees, tax accountant fees and costs in obtaining a Qualified Domestic Relations Order, if applicable, to divide any retirement accounts.

In addition, as MLFLC is not permitted to represent Clients before the court in their divorce matter, Clients will be responsible for filing their own divorce pro se, but will have MLFLC's assistance and support during the administrative divorce filing process, as necessary, until a final divorce decree is obtained.
